Most people will be affected by crime at some point in their lives. Some find it very hard to recover from the ordeal. They may experience feelings of loss, anger, guilt or helplessness as they try to make sense of what has happened.
Victim Support Southwark can help victims of crime by:
- Providing someone to talk to in confidence
- Liaising with the police and other organisations on behalf of the victim (including to help victims report a crime)
- Giving information on police and court procedures
- Linking them to other organisations that may be able to help
- Assisting with filling in a criminal injuries compensation form
Victim Support Southwark have specially trained staff and volunteers who specifically support victims of:
- Burglary
- Violent crime
- Rape and sexual assault
- Homophobic abuse
- Harassment, including racial harassment
- Domestic violence
